Why Dewey?

Because he's just so dang cute. ^^ What's not to like? Pretty face, pretty hair, pretty. . . *ahem* well, you get the picture. Besides, he's got one of the most interesting personalities of NAR, in my opinion. Dewey is always in motion. And he has a very hard time with his emotions. ^^ He tries to remain cool and indifferent all the time, but he just can't quite do it. It makes for some adorable expressions.

Why the weird name?

"Shades of Gray" is more a reference to Dewey's status as a character in NAR than anything. ^^; He's not really evil, but he's not quite good, either. In exemplum, when he was on the side of Dark Joker, he still had "nice" moments, like when he grabbed Ririka to keep her from falling in the mud. And he liked to compliment his enemies. But when he officially joined Ririka and the rest, he still remained a brat. ^^; He's not black, and he's not white, he's just somewhere in the middle. Hence the name. ^^
